    Abstract:

The final project course, Part I, in the year 2024, is intended to accompany the student in the various stages of the final project in general and the initiation phase in particular.

During the course, the students will receive guidance in a detailed definition of the nature of the project, the engineering challenge, the goals, objectives and metrics, alternatives for carrying out the project, initial design, building a work plan and defining the project's deliverables. Students will also be given all the tools required to write the 'initiation document' which will be submitted after the course is completed, and tools to write the rest of the project's products. They will learn the procedures, which include how to work independently and work with the project supervisor, milestones, assignments and grades.

The course is based on face-to-face lectures, practice and a concluding assignment - a document presentation meeting initiated by the student specifically for his project. Each student will be assigned to a final project until the beginning of the course and will practice what he learned on his project.

During the first semester and the second semester of the 2025 academic year, there will be two meetings that will assist in the preparation of the interim report and the project book - attendance at these meetings is recommended but not mandatory.
