Abstract:
The course concerned with the behavior of fluids at rest and in motion.
It includes fundamental concepts, hydrostatics, forces on immersed surfaces and bodies,
buoyancy and stability, basic equations in integral form for a control volume.Abstract:
Types of structures and loads. Analysis of statically determinate structures and trusses.
Analysis statically indeterminate structures by the force method and the displacement.Abstract:
The course provides a powerful tool for mechanical
engineering understanding and use. It covers the basic topics of mechanical design, an analysis of fatigue and related parameters,
ways to avoid failure due to fatigue, and establishes methods for safe and optimal design. Many cases of loads and stressing are discussed in details and drills are performed.
Major topics discussed in the first part of the course include welding design, riveting, bolts designed for tension or compression, lifting and handling screws, elastic analysis of bolts for joints, and others. Means of moment transmitting are discussed, such as couplings and clutches, disc brakes and others.
Shafts and their bearings will be designed for strength and durability
The student will get the required fundamentals for advanced courses in machine design and will be familiar with the required terminology for developing specifications and defining system characteristics.Abstract:
The main topics of the course are free vibration of system with
single degree of freedom without damping, Lagrange Equations,
free vibration of system with single degree of freedom with viscous
damping and with coulomb damping, response of system with
single degree of freedom to different harmonic excitations, free vibration of system with multiple degree of freedom, response of system with multiple degree of freedoms to different harmonic excitations and vibration absorber.Abstract:
The course provides the student with tools required for the design of various types of mechanisms.
In the course, different calculation methods are taught for speeds, accelerations and forces that act every moment on all the links of the mechanism.
In the course, different methods are taught for calculating the position, speed and acceleration of each link in the mechanism as a f?unction of timeAbstract:
The course solid mechanics explores the behavior of solid bodies subjected to various types of loading.
The course topics include stress, mechanical properties of materials, transformation of stress, axial load, transformation of strain, torsion, beam bending, unsymmetrical bending of beam, transverse shear and combined LoadingsAbstract:
Statics and dynamics loads. Buckling.
Shafts- design shaft for statics and dynamics loads. Screws. Mechanical springs. Bearings. Gears. belts
