Abstract:
This course is designed to give the student the understanding
of the fundamentals of digital logic design and to develop the ability of analyzing and designing combinational and sequential digital circuits.Abstract:
The course focuses on the basics of Embedded System Design and discusses the following topics: Introduction to firmware theory, mutuality between hardware and software, and their interaction, the structure of the DELFINO processor and its assembly language,
C code writing for this processor, code optimization and validation.
Moreover, should be studied common standard peripherals’ and interfaces, memory management and memory optimization.Abstract:
The course focuses on the digital hardware design methodology.
The main methodological tool of the course is VHDL language that
taught its capabilities used to design digital systems.
Hardware description languages, in general and VHDL language in particular
are central to modern digital design, primarily because of the appearance of
high-density programmable components. Here are three main reasons that make the VHDL language so powerful:Abstract:
Chips are installed in every system surrounding us in every aspect of our lives.
From personal computers, cell phones, cars, airplanes, medical systems, financial systems and more.
Research, development and manufacturing of VLSI systems is a significant
part of the High-tech industry and of research activity in the university.
Understanding the way chips are designed and their operation is important
for those interested in being a part of these industries.
During the course we'll study the process of planning, designing and
manufacturing chips, from the idea phase to a working product.
We'll discuss the different aspects of planning, the possible solutions
and the tools that assist in chip development.
