The course consists three parts:
The first part focuses physical and mathematical principles
of wired and wireless electronic communication, including definition of information, high-frequency electronic signals, bandwidth and noise, Fourier transforms in the time domain and frequency domain, sampling and information theory.
The second part focuses analog modulation techniques - linear modulations and exponential modulations and examination of system performance in the presence of contaminating noise. Modulators and detectors circuits.
The third part focuses wireless communication channel properties -
transmission cascade and receiver cascade and the role of antennas. Overview of different techniques of multiplexing systems.Abstract:

Communication satellites are currently used in a wide variety of different uses. The main ones: TV broadcasts, telephony, infrastructure for cellular networks, internet communication and military satellite communication. Satellite communication has the exclusive advantage of reaching remote areas, when it is uneconomical or impossible to connect subscribers to the telephone infrastructure or the cable television infrastructure.
Satellite communication is developing thanks to modern satellite standards and state-of-the-art systems. Most satellite communication is carried out by geostationary satellites that are in a fixed position above the equator at an altitude of 36 thousand km.
