  • Ethics of AI and Regulation (65031)
  • תקציר הקורס:

    Abstract:

Artificial intelligence (AI) is developing at an extremely fast pace. We should expect to see significant changes in our society as artificial intelligence systems are embedded in many aspects of our lives. This course will cover various philosophical and practical issues raised by the use of current and future AI systems. The questions we will deal with will examine different ethical angles through a variety of lenses: How do we align the goals of autonomous AI systems with our own? Is the future of artificial intelligence an existential threat to humanity? How do we prevent learning algorithms from acquiring morally objectionable biases? Should autonomous AI be used to kill in combat? What ethical rules should be used for artificial intelligence such as a self-driving car? Can artificial intelligence systems suffer moral damages?
  • Ethics In Engineering (80919)
  • תקציר הקורס:

    Abstract:

In an innovative world we live in today, the quality of technology products and services is of great importance. Which is derived and influenced by the level of professionalism of engineers and companies.

Let's think for a second about a software engineer who can do tremendous damage if he has no ethical guidelines.

He possesses a powerful force that reshapes everyday practices, personal, professional, and environmental interactions. For the welfare of mankind, it is vitally important that this power be used as a positive and non-destructive force. We are in the midst of the data revolution and while it is an amazing time and place to be, beware of the consequences.

Today, AI technologies are at an advanced stage of development and adoption, following developments in mathematics and computer science, which enable a great deal of computing power and the ability to capture and store large amounts of data. Accordingly, various avenues of human decision-making are being replaced or increasingly supported by computers, whether it is the approval or declines of loan applications in financial system or other types of algorithms, such as Facebook, that connects us to the everyone else. Without the human attachment - that is, morally

    - we build effective technological walls around us that can be offensive.

Proper use and management of the digital power must take into account issues that go far beyond engineering itself. In the "Ethics in Engineering" course, we will set a theoretical foundation for understanding and analyzing engineering ethical dilemmas and examine selected examples from contemporary engineering fields.
