Abstract:
The topics that are studied in the course:
Maxwell equations in differential and integral forms, boundary conditions for Maxwell equations, conservation of electrical charge, electrical scalar potential,
magnetic vector potential, wave equations for potentials, electromagnetic power and energy, Poynting theorem in differential and integral forms, method of images, solutions of non-symmetrical electromagnetic problems by using variable separation method,
Maxwell equations in phasor notation, quasi-static approximation, distributed systems, penetration depth and skin effect, plane waves, interaction of plane waves with conductors and with dielectric discontinuities, Snell's law.Abstract:
The topics that are studied in the course:
The propagation of electromagnetic modes in cylindrical waveguides, the implementation of “slow” waveguides by using periodic structures having cylindrical symmetric, generation processes of free electrons and the upper theoretical limit for the electrical current, physical models based on the Maxwell equations and classical and relativistic dynamics describing the interaction between free electron beams and microwave radiation, design and analysis of instruments in which an interaction between free electron beams and microwave radiation is taking place by using numerical simulation tools for the purpose of performance optimization, applications in science and technology fields of instruments based on the interaction between free electron beams and microwave radiation.Abstract:
