Abstract:
This course goal is to introduce students to thermodynamic
properties of pure substances and mixtures, and the interdependency of properties
of substances. The applicability of the First Law, Second Law, conservation of mass
and properties of substances in practical engineering systems, including gas mixtures
and power and refrigeration cycles will also be examined. In addition,
basic concepts of air conditioning will be studied while introducing
air-water vapor mixtures basic and the psychrometric diagram.
Fundamentals concepts of combustion reactions, enthalpy of formation
and heat of combustion will also be addressed.Abstract:
The course provides an elementary treatment of principles of Heat Transfer. Steady-State Conduction, Heat Exchangers, Steady State Conduction - Multiple dimension, Unsteady State Conduction, Forced Convection, Natural Convection, Radiation, Numerical method.Abstract:
