Abstract:

An airplane takes off from Tel Aviv carrying hundreds of passengers and arrives twelve hours later at precise time to New York, how does that happen? Why is the return flight shorter?

For the understanding of the aviation world, we will focus on three main issues:

1. Aerodynamics, flight principles and aircraft structure:

The technical side of the flight starting with the forces operating on the aircraft, the structure of the aircraft and its controls, various flight maneuvers, the propulsion system and main flight instruments.

2. Air navigation

Earth mapping principles, Navigation methods with emphasize on the technological means such as compass, various radio beacons and satellite navigation (GPS)
