The English Advanced 2 course trains students in advanced reading, writing, and presentation strategies designed to help them navigate academic literature, synthesize research findings, and communicate their ideas effectively in both written and spoken form. General, quasi-technical, and technical vocabulary will be expanded through engagement with original, up-to-date professional texts relevant to students’ fields of study. Work on the four language skills—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—together with grammar review, will be interwoven throughout the course to support integrated language development and enhance both comprehension and production. Throughout the course, students will work collaboratively in groups, developing effective teamwork and communication skills essential for academic and professional contexts. They will search for, evaluate, and process academic literature on topics relevant to their studies. By the end of the course, students will formulate an original research proposal, write it up as a professional-looking poster project, and present it in class. This process will strengthen their readiness for Final Projects and increase their confidence in participating in academic and industry settings.
