Introduction to the analysis of power flow in a complex network in steady state (POWER FLOW) - personal and self-learning and deepening of the subject.Abstract:
The course covers basics of power processing and power management.
Theory and analysis of electrical quality of non-sinusoidal and
sinusoidal systems are described with the following factors:
power factor, distortion factor, displacement factor and THD.
The structure, operation principle and characteristics of
major power devices such as Power Diode, Power BJT, Power Mosfet,
Thyristors (SCR, TRIAC, DIAC, GTO, IGBT, MCT) are presented.
Loss free resistor (LFR)
The structure, operation principle, waveforms and analysis of
DC to DC switching converters are presented for BUCK, BOOST,
BUCK-BOOST and FLYBACK converters, as well as PWM and PWM control IC,
at CCM and DCM modes.
Single and 3 phase rectifier's circuits, half and full bridge DC to
AC inverters circuits are described: structure, operation principle,
waveforms and analysis
The student will get some basics on planning and design power
electronic circuits hand on with P-Spice and MATLAB tools.Abstract:
The course focuses on photovoltaic electricity generation.
In the course, we will study about:
- The sunlight and the energy enclosed in it
- The photovoltaic system parts - the photovoltaic cell and panel, the inverter, and the related electrical switching equipment.
- Off-grid photovoltaic systems
- Photovoltaic systems with storage
