  • Project Management (40108)
  • תקציר הקורס:

    Abstract:

Project management today is a complex task, requiring institutionalized and sophisticated tools, which include aspects of content planning, quality, schedules, resource allocation, and costs. With the help of tools such as MS-Project for advanced management of schedules and Monday for managing teams and tasks in a collaborative way, students will learn more efficient ways to manage projects.

The field of project management is developing at a fast pace with high market demands for optimal planning and control. Many organizations are adopting computerized tools and methods, including AI, which enable accurate management and optimization of resources. The international standardization in the field, such as PMBOK, provides a structured framework for project management, and helps support managers with tools for informed decisions and higher efficiency. The program is aimed at imparting tools and learning how to use them in management contexts, with an emphasis on integrating modern technologies to optimize processes and generate insights in real time.

As part of the course, the students will be required to write an initiation document for the project, which will be submitted personally, using AI capabilities for definitions, planning, forecasting and control. In the second part of the course, project teams will be assigned to carry out project characterization, based on the initiation documents they will receive. The teams will be required to write a characterization document, present it in class and give a peer evaluation to the presentation of other groups, based on defined criteria.

The course focuses on knowing basic concepts from the world of project management, while learning methods for managing, monitoring and controlling projects. In addition, it demonstrates advanced approaches and techniques, including AI integration, that help project managers succeed and implement advanced processes.
  • Decision Support Systems - Basic Planning And Buil (40211)
  • תקציר הקורס:

    Abstract:

The course provides students with an understanding of the process of planning and building decision support systems in the various organizations, with an emphasis on medical systems.

A decision support system constitutes central systems within the decision-making processes at all levels in the organization. The systems help users analyze information and make informed decisions based on a variety of data, information and processes in the organization. Often the existing information systems in the organization, such as transaction processing systems or management information systems, do not create the type of reporting that a manager needs in order to make the appropriate decision.

Analysis and decision-making processes can be based on information and static data systems (DSS - Decision Support System) or based on real-time data in the various processes, and then they are called online analytical processing systems (OLAP - On-Line Analytical Processing).

Any decision support system uses data from internal and external sources. Internal data sources may include sales orders, material requirements planning results, serial records, or financial data from accounting and financial analysis. Data from external sources may include interest rates, population trends, new housing construction costs, or raw material pricing.

Some decision support systems include their own query languages, statistical analyses, spreadsheets, and graphics that help users retrieve data and analyze the results. Managers must also be allowed to create a model of the factors influencing a decision. A product manager might decide on a price for a new product. A simple model for finding the best price would factor in the expected sales volume at different price levels. The model allows the user to ask if questions and display the expected results. The course will present the various methods for receiving the recommendations from the system, architecture of the various decision support systems, development of a decision support system, through the use of custom construction tools and integration of decision support systems, including the use of AI tools for planning the systems and use of a business decision support system.

The study format includes face-to-face lectures as well as the presentation of real examples from the world of computing. Before the meetings, the students are required to read articles and additional information that will be used in the course.

The course will include a review of decision support systems [1], the impact of these systems on medical processes [2], a review of the effects of these systems on medical processes both in terms of opportunity and risks [3], a review of the development of DSS, AI, BI systems and information analysis in 2015 -2019 [4], the development of DSS and ML decision support systems in medicine [5], a review of the use of medical production systems [6] in medicine [7] and even a review of the reasons that prevent doctors from adopting and using decision support systems in the workplace [8].
